OnePlus is gearing up to launch the latest OxygenOS 11. Its Android 11 beta 3 updates have already been rolled out. The last time that the company had added a few major changes and features to its software update was almost fifteen months back with the OxygenOS 9.5, and it introduced modes such as native screen recorder, Zen Mode, Fnatic mode, screenshot editor, and much more.

OxygenOS 11 is supposed to bring visual changes to its skin for the first time in a long time, and one of the first additions that the smartphone giant highlighted is the Always-on Display mode. The company would offer an AOD mode, and the simplified changed skin could rival that of Samsung’s OneUI. OnePlus had gives us a taste of what to expect from the OxygenOS 11 through its limited preview on the OnePlus 8 series.

In the latest tweet from the company itself, OxygenOS 11’s latest addition is the Dark Mode, “designed for greater comfort and accessibility”.

A short video accompanies the Tweet, and it shows how the user could quickly switch from the Light Mode to the Dark mode. It is surprising that OnePlus is pushing this feature to the frontier since most of the smartphones already come with this Dark Mode feature built-in. However, users seem too excited over this feature nonetheless. Using the Dark mode feature, the users could schedule dark mode or leave it enabled throughout the day based on their preference. The setting has been moved from the customization menu to the display settings.

Other major changes to be included in the upcoming software update are the Always-on Display mode that would show its users the time and date as well as any pending notifications and the battery level. ‘The update will also offer some new clock faces. A new design for first-party apps such as Weather, Notes, Gallery, and others, a bold typeface with large icons are also to be a part of the new update.\

The update for OxygenOS 11 will be slowly rolled out to various OnePlus devices over the upcoming months.
