Last year, Xiaomi, the Apple of East launched their first ever laptop, the Mi Notebook air in China. But, unfortunately, the model was not released in India. After receiving a good response for Mi Notebook, the company is working on another Notebook Air. And Xiaomi recently shared an image teasing the new Mi Notebook on its Weibo account.

According to a report at GizmoChina, Xiaomi could announce an updated version of its Mi Notebook Air on Friday, 23 December in Beijing. It’s still not known what the new Xiaomi model will be called.

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air comes in two variants – a 12.5-inch model and an a13.3-inch model. Earlier model variants went out with only the Full HD display version. So, there is a possibility that Xiaomi will include a Quad HD display on the upcoming variant. But, this is just an assumption. The previous notebooks also came with USB Type-C, USB 3.0, glass trackpad, backlit keyboard, etc. The model has been praised for its design and builds quality.

The most interesting change of the new model is that it will feature 4G Volte support, which means that it will come with a SIM card slot. This suggests that the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air will come with 4G LTE support. Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air came with an option of up to 8GB RAM and 256 GB SSD along with an optional NVIDIA GeForce 940 MX graphics card.

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air is currently priced at 3499 Yuan ($525 and Rs. 35,000) for the 12.5-inch model and 4999 Yuan ($750 and Rs. 49,500) for the 13-inch model. Xiaomi had earlier indicated that it won’t be releasing Mi Notebook Air in India.
