Forgot to carry your Credit cards, debit cards, or even cash? No worry, these things will be passed soon as you can pay with a single tap from your Android phone. Google on Thursday unveiled its brand new service Android Pay at its eighth Google I/O conference in San Francisco.

After Apple Pay came to market, it was expected that Google to come up with the same service as the mobile phone is becoming a crucial medium from connecting people to shopping to paying bills.

The company has earlier offered Google Wallet with limited reach and was overshadowed by the launch of Apple Pay. Users are always cautious when it comes to the matter of personal and financial information.

To offer secure and reliable service, Google has partnered with leading payment networks and financial institutions in the US, such as American Express, VISA, MasterCard, City Bank, and Bank of America, among others.

The company also partnered with the top payment processors, including Braintree, CyberSource, First Data, Stripe, and Vantiv, to make integration easier so that developers get an open platform and can add Android Pay as their favorite apps.

Android is used in 85% of the total smartphones globally. With the announcement of Android Pay, which is expected to be launched later this year, mobile payment is going to revolutionize the whole payment system.

Google, in a news release, states that it has Android Pay will soon be accepted at over 700,000 store locations from your favorite brands across the US and in over 1000 Android apps.

Paying with Android Pay is very easy. Users can simply place the phone merchant’s contactless terminal by selecting “Buy with Android Pay” and the rest of the thing will be done automatically without even opening an app. After the payment is made, the user can see transaction details from his/her phone.

Another important feature of this system is that you need not be worried about your personal information. While the payment is processing, the app will send virtual account numbers instead of actual credit or debit card numbers, giving you extra security.

In case of loss or stolen device, users can lock the device with Android Device Manager and can recreate a new password to keep their information safe.
