This summer if you are heading for your favorite destination or going out to reach office early, you don’t need to worry about the heavy traffic – thanks to new traffic alert in Google Maps. The search engine giant today has released an enhanced version of Google Maps for Android and iOS mobile users that will provide you a spoken alert for upcoming traffic conditions and will help you to identify the quickest route.

Next time while you are the road just put your destination and Google Maps will provide you the real-time update of traffic. If there is any congestion on the road you’re traveling Google Maps voice navigation system will tell you which alternate routes you might choose to avoid heavy traffic. It will also provide you the explanations why the alternate road is recommended for you – whether it’s just to avoid traffic or reach your destination quickly.

Google’s voice navigation system helps users to get alert of traffic condition while you are walking or driving on the road. The voice navigation tells users where to turn, which road to take or even suggests better route and if you are off the track it will automatically suggest you a new route.

Here is the simple guide how you can start voice navigation in your Google Maps app on iOS or Android devices.

  1. Tap on the Google Maps on your smartphone.
  2. Once the app is fully opened put your destination to get directions to a location.
  3. If you want to hear voice-guided navigation, tap on the Navigate option and Google Maps will provide you detailed traffic details.
  4. When you have reached your destination you can disable voice navigation – just go to the bottom left and touch the icon X.
