Google always try to help its users quickly find the best answers to their questions, regardless of the device they’re using. And now, Google is introducing two upcoming changes to mobile search results that will help the users to get their desired content very easily.

Two years ago, Google added a mobile-friendly label to help users find pages where the text and content were readable without zooming and the tap targets were appropriately spaced. Now the ecosystem has evolved, and according to a recent search, 85% of all pages in the mobile search results now meet these criteria and show the mobile-friendly label.

For displaying and maintaining the results in a very managed way, Google will be removing the label, although the mobile-friendly criteria will continue to be a ranking signal.

Google says, “we’ll continue providing the mobile usability report in Search Console and the mobile-friendly test to help webmasters evaluate the effect of the mobile-friendly signal on their pages.”

Sometimes, the intrusive interstitials create the not so good experience to the users. As the underlying content is present on the page and available to be indexed by Google, the content may be visually obscured by an interstitial. This can frustrate users because they cannot easily access the content they were expecting when they tapped on the search result.

And it is really a very poor situation that must be handled because it decreases the value of that page as compared to the other pages where the content is immediately accessible.
