There is good news for the Blackberry fans as the company brings a new smartphone running on the Android operating system. The Blackberry Mercury device will sport a physical keyboard and will be entirely designed, built, and overseen by the Chinese Corporation.

In mid-December, Blackberry and TCL formed a partnership, officially making the Canadian outfit a software company. TCL will still release Blackberry branded handsets, for which the telecom giant will build the Android software. The new device could be revealed within the next few hours as CES 2017 trade show kicks off in Las Vegas, Steve Cistulli tweeted.

There have been rumors that the upcoming keyboard-equipped Mercury will pack a 4.63-inch display, and features an unusual 1620 X 1080 resolution with a pixel density of 420 PPI. It is also expected that the smartphone consists of 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage with a Snapdragon processor.  The Blackberry Mercury is also expected with an 18-megapixel camera on the back and an 8-megapixel camera on the front.

Last year BlackBerry launched two Android phones DTEK 50 and DTEK 60, both made by TCL. These two phones were also launched in India and therefore, there is a similar expectation about the upcoming Blackberry phone.
