After the announcements of remarkable smartphones during MWC 2017, Sony on Monday introduced a new and affordable device dubbed as Xperia L1. It is an elegant smartphone with a 5.5-inch HD display, classic Sony design, a Dual SIM version and weighs 180 grams.

Abstract of Xperia L1:

  • 5-inch HD ISP display
  • 13MP rear camera with an LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera.
  • 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage which can be expanded UP TO 256GB.
  • Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, and a micro USB Type-C port.
  • Fueled with 2620 mAh battery.

Although Xperia L1 is named after Xperia L, but there is no similarity between the two phones. Also, the Xperia L1 is more slender and more stylish in its presentation. The smartphone features smooth rounded edges for ease of hold and has an almost edge-to-edge display.

The Xperia L1 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat that will be able to adapt to the user’s habits, automatically adjusting different settings, such as ringtone volume, brightness, and notifications, depending on where you are and what you are doing. It also features a 720 X 1280 LCD display and is powered by 1.45GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 SoC and Mali-T720 MP2 GPU. It consists of 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. The latter is expandable to up to 25GB via the micro SD card slot, which should satisfy the needs of even the biggest data holders out there. The dual-SIM Xperia L1 is fueled with a 2620mAh battery with Sony’s STAMINA mode for battery saving.

Optics on the Xperia L1 includes a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 5-megapixel camera with a 24mm wide-angle lens and f/2.2 aperture. Connectivity options include 4G, LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11n, and Bluetooth 4.2 with aptX, NFC, A-GPS, GLONASS, and USB Type-C.

The Xperia L1 comes in black or white, while a pink version will also be available in a few markets. The flagship device will go on sale in selected markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, North America, and Latin America in April. There is no information about the prices but the company guarantees that the smartphone will be affordable.
