At the Cable Tech Show 2017 in Japan, Huawei launched the MA5633-XB10, which is the first Giga Coax access product in the industry. It is intended to be used in corridors and is the latest participant in the trend of moving fibers closer to users on HFC (hybrid fiber-coaxial) networks. It also progresses the series and full-scenario coverage of the company’s D-CCAP (Distributed-Converged Cable Access Platform) solution. The MSOs (multiple system operators) are able to deploy the device MA5633-XB10 for providing Gigabit services quickly and flexibly.

The company’s solution is a Gigabit coaxial access solution, mainly made for the MSOs. The solution helps transfer video and data modulation to remote optical sites. The transfer endorses platform sharing with FTTH (fiber to the home). The MA5633-XB10 features a small size and large capacity with low power consumption, providing highly integrated solutions being built with an innovative distributed architecture. It delivers 1000 Mbits per second bandwidth over coaxial cables. This opens room for the product to provide a full range of services, including high-speed internet access and voice and video.

Technical Details of MA5633-XB10 of Huawei

Following are the technical details for you to get a better idea of the product’s capabilities:

  • The device is compatible with 32 x 10 DOCSIS 3.0 channels while delivering a 1.6Gbit/s downstream rate and 300Mbit/s upstream rate. The high bandwidth lets it bear 4K and 8K HD videos.
  • The device is the industry’s smallest CMC (coaxial media converter). Its integrated ‘pizza box’ design makes it easier to install in narrow indoor cabinets. It can reduce power consumption by using innovative, streamlined fins for heat dissipation.
  • One single MA5633-XB10 device is able to cover a maximum of 256 households. This reduces financial investments vastly in order to avail of its high-end precise services. The device also supports on-demand frequency configuration so that operators can flexibly expand their capacities.
  • The device features a distributed modular design amid the market trend of moving fibers closer to consumers. It can work with MA5800, a distributed smart OLT (optical line termination), to serve for a smooth evolution to CloudFAN.

Summing Up

The company is dedicated to offering efficient video and broadband access solutions for MSOs. The D-CCAP solution is hugely used by mainstream MSOs for commercial purposes. It is known to cover more than 50 million home broadband users across 30 countries, with Denmark, France, Spain, Japan, New Zealand, and Brazil, to name a few.
