Currently, the team is said to be focused on pushing the data from the legacy electronic medical records systems. The main aim of Amazon is to ensure that proper information is available to doctors and patients. Amazon is also trying to explore a platform in telemedicine. This will ensure that people have online consultations with doctors. In the past, there have also been reports of Amazon developing a platform to sell pharmaceuticals using its website.
The team of developers, which is named 1942, for the year in which Columbus landed in America, is looking for ways to integrate health applications to Amazon Echo and Dash Wand. There is still no clarity if Amazon is looking to develop any new hardware.
A bit more research revealed the details of some members of the 1942 team. There are a couple of positions open for strategic intuitive leads, UX designers, and two machine learning professionals. Amazon has also hired some health care experts to improve the relationship with pharmaceutical companies and hospitals.
This project from Amazon comes in accordance with a similar project on which Apple is working.
