The event of 2017 Google I/O hosted a surprise for the fans before keynote discussions. It was the performance of the band Parisi that filled the atmosphere of Shoreline Amphitheatre with tunes of progress and joy. While the fans enjoyed the rhythms, they also noticed a new dimension of Google music creation with Pixel.

The band used modular instruments named ROLI BLOCKS, along with four Pixel phones in their performance. It was also the NOISE app of ROLI that further empowered the entire hour. The app was launched in preview mode in the event and is supported by Pixel and other high-end Android phones.

Both BLOCKS and NOISE are able enough to serve music experts with diversity, opening a new world of music. The powerful technology provides low audio latency, glitch-free audio, and fast processing capabilities. As a matter of fact, ROLI is a company dedicated towards making digital musical instruments.

ROLI introduced NOISE in beta on Android, becoming one of the pioneers in taking advantage of enhanced music creation possibilities provided by the OS. Recently, Android received a string of updates for developed endorsement of creating audio, with more promises for Android O. Parisi was the first band to showcase the diversity of possibilities in creating innovative music by using the NOISE app.

Parisi’s Praise on the latest Google music creation attributes

Marco Parisi of the band spoke to Google regarding their experiences in the event and with the Google music creation initiatives. The band has been working with ROLI for two years. Google approached them to open its I/O 2017 event, and they readily agreed. Google sent two phones to the band two weeks prior to the show. It was new experimental and exploration aspects of music that attracted the band to agree to open the show.

The band is savvy with using laptops in their sets. Using phones for the first time ever was an exciting challenge for them. According to Marco, 90% of the music played was live right on the stage. They found “magic” in the integration of the phones, which felt like engines to them. He was quoted, “It really changed our vision”.

While asked about the use of tech in the art of music, Marco stated that it’s a “new phase for music tech and creativity”. Technology provides diverse opportunities to create music, he continued. As per his observations, a traditional studio setup does not match the flexibility that Google music creation can offer. He finished, “changing your workflow has an impact on what you make”.

Summing Up

ROLI delivers a platform for music experts with strong culture and collaboration. This suggests a consistent flow of developments for the future of music Digitalism. With the paced progressions of today’s world, it is quite clear that the aspect of Google music creation is attractive enough for musicians to accept changes and execute accordingly endorsing innovations.
