Today, Panos Panay, Microsoft’s Corporate VP of Devices, announced that Surface Pro with LTE is going to be made available for business customers. The announcement at Future Decoded 2017, London, is coming following the first unveiling of Surface Pro LTE in May.

The Surface Pro features a Cat 9 modem that ‘makes it the fastest LTE-enabled laptop in its class.’ Furthermore, it delivers global connectivity, which has a backup of 20 cellular bands, and this again makes it ideal for frequent travelers across countries.

It is not officially revealed yet by Microsoft regarding which configurations will be incorporating LTE Advanced in Surface Pro. As for the consumer customers, it is not likely to be available till 2018. Microsoft via its Surface Pro product page earlier said that the availability can be enjoyed from spring 2018, although the reference is now removed.

Microsoft’s notion is that the computing future surrounds majorly with mobiles. Therefore, products having LTE support capabilities are becoming increasingly essential nowadays. People are working from different places, not just a fixed office, but also home, coffee shop, or even car! Microsoft has faith in LTE for its endorsing ability to consistently inspire people in staying productive.
