Xiaomi, the young and successful manufacturer of mobile phones, announced on Tuesday its arrival in Spain. The peninsular nation is the first country in the West to receive this brand’s products officially.

“Today is a historic day for us as it marks the beginning of a new chapter in our global expansion plans,” said Xian Wang, Senior Vice President of Xiaomi.”We are very happy to take this first step and to enter Western Europe, starting with Spain,” he continued.

Xiaomi will distribute its products in three ways online, in authorized distributors, and in its own physical stores.

To work on the distribution of their phones, Xiaomi has chosen Ingram Micro and AliExpress, in addition to having its own e-commerce site where the brand’s main products can be purchased. The range of devices will also be available online and offline in large areas such as Amazon, Carrefour, MediaMarkt, and Phone House.

The company has announced in parallel the opening of two official stores, located in the Commercial Center of La Vaguada (Madrid) and in the Madrid Xanadú Shopping and Leisure Center. Both will open their doors on November 11.

In these marketing channels, you can buy two of the brand’s most interesting and attractive products: Mi Mix 2 and Mi A1. The first one will be distributed at a price of 499 euros in its 6GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage version. On the other hand, the second one will do so at a price of 229 euros in its 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage version.

The company will also market the Redmi 4A, Redmi 4X, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 5A Prime, Redmi Note 5A, Mi 6, and Mi Max 2 models in Spain. Regarding these products, Xiaomi has not specified exact dates or prices.

Two of its most attractive products that arrived in Spain are Mi Mix 2 and Mi A1.

The company will also bring Spain certain products of its ecosystem for the home. Among them are:

  • Mi Electric Scooter An electric scooter with a price of 349 euros will be distributed exclusively in the store’s My Store.
  • Mi Box is a multimedia player with 4K, HDR, and Android TV capabilities. Its price is 74.99 euros.
  • Mi Action Camera 4K. An action camera capable of recording videos in 4K and 30 FPS with a target of 145 degrees. Its price is 134.99 euros.
  • Mi Band 2. The company’s physical monitoring wristband also arrives in Spain. It will do it at a price of 24.99 euros.

The range of Xiaomi products will be available in Spain on November 8 from 13:00. They can be purchased, from that moment, in the online store of Xiaomi, AliExpress, Amazon, Carrefour, and MediaMarkt, and Phone House. At the moment, the company has not ruled on the distribution of products with traditional operators such as Movistar, Orange, or Vodafone.
