OnePlus 5T is finally officially announced by the company after weeks full of leaks and rumors. OnePlus kept the 18:9 display trend going in the smartphone and brought advanced camera features.

Back in June, when the OnePlus 5 was released, the backside looked like that of the iPhone 7 Plus, and fans started complaining. OnePlus 5 ultimately looked a little different, exactly the same as the 5T.

The flagship device has a 6.02-inch display size with a 1080p (1080 x 2160 pixel) screen. Its fingerprint sensor has been moved to the backside from below the display. In fact, the sensor is positioned quite well in the middle and is convenient to reach, just like in Pixel 2.

OnePlus came up with its signature face unlock technology that adds further sparks to the sensor for its users. Although it is similar to the same of Stock Android in its working process, the company didn’t go into the details of the process.

Furthermore, the smartphone packs a Snapdragon 835 processor, 64GB or 128GB of UFS 2.1 2-lane storage, and 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The battery is 3,300 mAh non-removable, and the company included a 3.5mm headphone jack, as revealed before. The Chinese company went on its own dash charge as the Co-Founder of the company slashed the idea of adding wireless charging.

The smartphone features Android Nougat 7.1.1 wrapped with its own OxygenOS. The skinned Android version will provide more customization abilities than the same in Stock Android, and neither does the OS divert much from its standard working path. OnePlus spoke thoroughly on their focus in adding features to Stock Android for bettering the OS. Late December will see the phone receive the Oreo beta, and a finished version will be released in early 2018.

Like the OnePlus 5, the OnePlus 5T has the major highlight in the cameras. The smart device comes with a 16MP front camera with a ‘screen flash’ of the phone that has the ability to take decent low-light photos. The rear camera has two sensors, 16MP, and 20MP. There is no telephoto lens as in OnePlus 5 over the 20MP sensor, rather is a standard lens having an f1.7 aperture.

The change of the lens for the 20mp sensor makes the camera more proficient in low-light photography. This makes the phone automatically switch to the secondary camera and utilize the aperture when it detects less than 10 lux light.

OnePlus is using its own ‘Intelligence Pixel Technology’ that can merge four pixels into one, helping in noise reduction and offering more brightness for the photos.

The company has been working on the camera refinement application as well. The primary change is the one-hand usage functionality. Users now can swipe up and down to access all the camera modes.

The new OnePlus 5T will go on sales on the OnePlus website from November 21 for Europe, India, and North America users. The phone will have the price ranges around the same as its predecessor with $499 for the 6GB+64GB variant and $559 for the 8GB+128GB variant.
