Testing something before anyone else is what the Betas and Alphas programs provide. Whether it’s a game in the middle of development or an app, whoever is a tester will have the opportunity to use functions and tools that the public still does not have. Instagram is looking for ‘testers’ for its new Alpha program.

Before, the test groups were limited to internal members of the companies and studios. But with the rise of the internet, consoles, smartphones, and apps, the massive reach provides a testing platform with millions of users who are more than happy in exchange for being able to test things before anyone else. And in the style of WhatsApp Beta, we just watched the Instagram Alpha program.

Test Instagram news before they go out

Are you a fan of social network of photographs? Do you often do Stories and have you already tried the new AR filters and the function to follow hashtags? Well in this new test program you can get hold of the news of Instagram before they are released in a massive way to the general public.

It all started with a thread on the Reddit network, on the Android subreddit, in which an Instagram employee launched an ad looking for testers for a new Alpha testing program. After checking the mods that this was true. If one enters that post, you will see that it is closed. Why? Maybe because Instagram has already got enough testers. But the funny thing is that the process and the links to join are still active; of course, you can use them to sign up.

Join the program

The first thing to join the program is to visit the Google group, Instagram Alpha Program, which will tell us first that we must be a member to see the content and participate. Right below we have the button request to join the group using a valid email account. The process is very fast and we will be a part of the aforementioned group, being able to choose whether or not we want to receive notifications and if we want to show the profile picture.

Once we have done this, click on the following link that will take us to the Google Play Store. In this, you will see a message from Instagram itself and a huge blue button that will allow you to become a TESTER. You already know what to do here. Go to the section of updates of the Play Store and check if there is a new version of Instagram to download, which will be the tests.
