Yeelight, for those who aren’t accustomed to the name, is the subsidiary branch of Xiaomi. They have come up with their latest product, the Yeelight Voice Assistant speaker. It is basically a speaker that comes to artificial intelligence. It is designed to function as a gateway to control the IoT devices introduced by Xiaomi. The speaker will be available in two variants, one for the Chinese Market exclusively. This one will be using the Xiaomi AI technology. The second variant, the global version, will come with Amazon Alexa.

The Yeelight Voice Assistant speaker is equipped with six microphones and a single 2-watt loudspeaker. It will respond to any voice command within a range of 5 meters. A Cortex-A53 quad-core CPU along with 256 MB of RAM and 256 MB of internal memory powers the device. The dual-band WiFi connectivity and Low Energy Bluetooth are among the other impressive features.

The Voice Assistant comes with a Dual AI system. Other Xiaomi home automation products like smart LED lamps, table lamps, bedside lamps, ceiling lights, etc can be controlled via the assistant. As of now, the Xiaomi smart home feature of the device will only support the exclusive Xiaomi branded home automation products. The company though has promised to expand the list of the supported devices in the coming weeks.

The company has priced the Alexa powered Yeelight Voice Assistant smart speaker at $30. The shipping process in China is expected to start from 31st January.
