Yesterday the news leaped that Google, in collaboration with a number of brands such as Micromax, Intex Karbon, and others, would be on the verge of unveiling the first phones under the Android Go initiative. Apparently, the big G would like to premiere this program, launching at least one device whose price would not exceed $31, or what is the same, 25 euros.

So important was this news that many fans and users of the Google mobile platform have not been slow to start fantasizing about the details of this ultra-low phone. The devices could become the replacement mobile, the perfect gift for someone who starts his stage with smartphones for the first time.

We, of course, were not going to be less, and today we wanted to devise the affordable smartphone that Google plans to present later this month of January.

Imagining the Android Go of 30$

Less than 1GB of RAM and MediaTek processor
As is logical, the Google device that will come hand in hand with Micromax at a price not higher than 30 euros will not be any waste of specifications. It will not even be at the height of some of the popular low ranges in terms of performance. However, the terminal will come loaded with perfectly optimized software so that everything works perfectly despite its shortcomings.

At the level of technical specifications, it is expected that the device has a processor not too powerful, probably signed by MediaTek, not only because the prices of its components are smaller than in the case of rivals, but because the chips of the Chinese firm are already compatible with Google’s mobile platform for low-income phones. Therefore, unlike the processor, we would not be surprised to see how the terminal shows a technical section similar to that of the Nokia 2.

Next, to the processor, we will find 1 GB or less of RAM. This data is practically a fact confirmed since Android Go was born as an operating system oriented to phones with a similar number or less than the GB. As for storage, we do not expect to see more than 8 GB, although we do not rule out the possibility of expanding them through a microSD card.

Software as the main incentive

The great attraction of phones with Android Go lies in the software because finally, low-end phones offer an experience according to what users pay for them. Thanks to the optimization of the system and the inclusion of applications developed to consume the minimum number of resources possible.

Thus, in addition to a software based on Android 8 Oreo modified to be lighter, we will find pre-installed applications such as YouTube Go, which allows you to download the videos from the platform to see them offline. Maps Go, a cropped version of the maps and navigation app; Datally, the app that allows reducing the mobile data consumption of the applications; Google Go, the lite variant of the search engine app, and Files Go, the intelligent file explorer that saves space by eliminating unnecessary documents. In addition, the terminal will have a special Google Play edition that, despite allowing to download all the applications available in the store, will highlight those that are optimized for Android Go.

However, this not all. Since the terminal software will be based on Android Oreo, the owners of this affordable terminal will enjoy the most interesting features at both the operation and security levels. Oreo brings great improvements such as management of notifications more exhaustive, optimizations in operation and something tells that this phone is not going to go over milliamp-hours, precisely.

One of the great plans of Google for the next few years is to bring smartphones to the next billion users around the world, who do not yet have a smartphone in their hands. The upcoming devices together with the other devices that its partners will launch under the Android Go program, the big G takes another step towards its goal.

It is clear that the terminal will not compete with the phones of Samsung, LG, Xiaomi and other consolidated brands in the market, of course, that is not their goal either. A phone of 30$ with humble specifications and Android “Pure” in its maximum expression, accompanied by applications and services that will alleviate the shortcomings in terms of benefits, is called to be the revolution that the low range of Android has been yearning for years.
