Multiple operations and their malfunctions in Sony Xperia XZ Premium, XZs and XZ phones, such as the volume and camera buttons are not working, sometimes alternately and at other times simultaneously. A draining battery, UI lag and device overheating have been observed by their users, since the Oreo upgrade.

The technical issues regarding the volume button imply that sound functions cannot be controlled while listening to music or during calls. Users of the Sony Xperia XZ Premium have noticed that immediately after the installation of Android 8.0. Did these issues come up, being temporarily fixed with its consequent update and then breaking down with the next? Some symptoms of these problems triggered by the Oreo update also comprise increased battery drainage, UI lag and overheating.

Sony, as of now, has not released an official statement regarding these pertinent issues, which are being reported on for weeks and seem to not have amassed enough attention from them yet. Users can only hope that they shed some light on the eradication of these problems soon.
