Elon Musk: Tesla Autowipers in Model 3 and Model S to Be Fixed in Next Software Update

Must Read

Tesla Motors had introduced new AI-based Tesla auto wipers for Autopilot 2 cars, which users found innovative and, at the same time, complex. This system works by utilizing the vehicle’s neural network and cameras to detect if moisture is hitting the vehicle’s windshield. In spite of such a resourceful feature, many users reported issues regarding this.

One of the Model 3 users shared his experience where he mentioned that when doors are opened in the middle of the downpour, it at once triggers the car’s AI-based Tesla auto wipers. This action resulted in the compact electric sedan dumping the water accumulated in the windshield into the car directly over the driver.

These issues were also experienced by Model S users. The user shared his experience with Reddit, where he said that the automatic rain-sensing wipers abruptly wetted him while he was getting into the car during a rainy day. At the same time, some more users reported that they had to press break and had to start their cars for the functioning of automatic wipers.

Tesla is on its way to introducing its automatic rain-sensing wipers to its newest AP2 vehicles. The company officially addressed the issue regarding the auto wipers through a software update.
