Samsung poured some more information about the much-talked device these days, Galaxy X, the foldable smartphone from the company. DJ Koh, head of company business, stated that the foldable phone is currently nicknamed Galaxy X. The South Korean tech company has pushed the device’s launch date to 2019 instead of 2018 – which was earlier expected.

This is not the first instance when Samsung held a private viewing of its foldable smartphone prototype at CES 2018. According to sources, Samsung has taken care of utmost secrecy before it gets launched next year. The upcoming smartphone is expected to be more classic than earlier.

There is still a dispute regarding the ultimate form of the Samsung foldable phone. It is having engineering and mechanical issues, and they need to address them accordingly. Samsung may have two variants in this series—one in-folding at a curve of 1R and another out-folding with a curve of 5R.

This exclusive smartphone would fold like a clamshell and have just a small gap around the fold. Samsung is working hard to trigger the issues regarding this foldable phone, where it assures that it can withstand up to 200,000 times with the folding and unfolding process.

There is still a debut regarding the design and features of the Samsung foldable phone. It can be assumed to be a 7.3-inch in-folding panel. On the other hands, some believe that Galaxy X will be a tablet that might look like a clamshell phone. Ultimately Samsung’s 7.3-inch foldable phone could be somewhat similar to Samsung Galaxy Note 8’s screen where it depends more on the aspect ratio of the screen than its diagonal length.
