2018 has kicked off as a good year for smartphone users as all the major mobile companies compete to produce the most innovative smartphone of the year. LG is about to join the race with rumors surrounding the launch of its latest flagship model LG G7, already making its rounds on the internet.

A picture leaked online, allegedly of the rumored smartphone, LG G7, reveals an almost bezel-less display that gets as close as possible, for the time being, to an “all-screen” anterior. The bezel-to-screen ratio is anticipated to be 9:18. The extremely narrow bezel above the screen has just enough space to fit in a speaker, sensors, and what appears to be the dual-lens front camera. While there is no visible bezel below the screen, it may be possible that LG has taken ideas from Apple’s latest iPhone X and hidden the device controllers at the bottom of the device, giving it an all-encompassing display, expected to be somewhere between 5.7 and 6 inches with a sharp QHD+ resolution.

The phone may be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset, which pits it against Samsung’s Galaxy S9, which, if rumors are to be believed, is going to be powered by Snapdragon 845, making it 25% faster than LG G7. The upcoming smartphone is expected to run on Android Oreo, but it might also opt for the older Android version, Nougat.

The rumors surrounding the phone started surfacing after LG’s official website mentioned support for the “Future LG G7”, which was taken down immediately. A new LG wallet app also suddenly appeared on the Google play store that mentioned LG G7, adding fuel to the fire. Although LG is trying its utmost to keep the flagship device a secret for some time to come, continuous online leaks about the phone have almost confirmed its existence.

LG generally makes its big launches at Barcelona’s annual Mobile World Congress tech tradeshow. The MWC will be held between 26th February and 1st March this year, which might mean that the device will be made commercially sometime in March or April.
