Today at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, the brand new 2019 Ram 1500 of Fiat Chrysler is to be demonstrated and we have received information on its new designs. To start with, it has the capacity of 2,300 pounds of payload, along with a massive 12,750 pound-capacity in certain specific configurations. The Ram’s present version of DS platform will go through a transformation of alterations and will end up at the newly improved DT platform, which will have the technologies and advantages that are mentioned below. The Ram truck is boasted with hybrid technology, bearing the updated engines 5.7 liter V8 Hemi and 3.6 liter V6 Pentastar. The V6 provides 269 pound-feet of torque, generating 305 horsepower. With the Ram hybrid tech boost, the vehicle can provide 90 lb-ft of torque in addition. The V8, on the other hand, has 395 HP and 410 lb-ft, and an additional 130 lb-ft thanks to the hybrid system. Now comes the more interesting features of 2019 RAM pickup truck, the highlight being the big touchscreen display of 12 inches that’s portrait-oriented and is positioned at the center. The vintage switch style hard keys on the screen, along with its row slick design makes it an ideal rival of Tesla Roadster. At the top-center of the windshield near the rear-view mirror, there are several modern-ish controls, giving out a futuristic vibe. Further insights on the display include a scintillating integration of the ‘monolithic’ monitor into the dashboard, incorporating with the toggle switches and the rotary shifter that gives you more room in the center console. In addition, the 2019 Ram pickup truck will pack a power tailboard, which you can open by simply pushing a button. The tailboard and the hood are to be made of aluminum, along with which Chrysler is altering the frame, ultimately leading to a weight saving of about 225 pounds. Other features include a panoramic sunroof and an optional big roof window (like the one in Ford’s 2015 F-150). The truck can be defined as a full four-door crew cab, and it will be 3.9 inches longer than its current version, and an extra 4.1 inches in its wheelbase. This will provide more legroom for the passengers at the back seat. It is likely to reach the dealers by this year’s first quarter, although we still don’t have info on the 3.0 EcoDiesel status. While the Ram 1500’s 2019 version has an attractive interior, it would be interesting to see how it stands against the rivals.
