At the Detroit Auto Show, Audi debuted the second-generation A7 that surpassed other featured vehicles. The car’s sloped roof, broadsides, and angular grille comprise the design language introduced with A8 Sedan last year.

The new Audi car further features the signature precedent styles of the first-gen A7 model that came out in 2009. Anthony Foulk, head production manager of Audi, said that it is now the company’s ‘secret weapon’ to win the hearts of the new customers. In fact, he terms the update for a ‘more emotional buyer,’ equipped with versatility and spaciousness.

Additionally, the model sports athleticism embraced simplicity, providing a sense of sobriety if you want to travel to special occasions at night. Anthony said: “People come to Audi for the A7. They cross-shop it against the (Porsche) Panamera, the Tesla Model S.” During peak points of annual sales, the company sold 8,500 A7s globally, and 6,500 A8s, according to Anthony.

Most of the car’s interior works remain the same as of its predecessor. As for the exterior, the new version offers a wider trapezoidal grille, full-length LED taillights, and thinner LED headlights. Additionally, the headlights and taillights showcase concert-laser-like dance during the locking and unlocking of the car. The S Line variant also bears bigger openings in the lower front fascia.

Anthony stated, “The number-one reason people choose the A7 is that they like the design—they love the image. Second, they come for the versatility.” It follows the latest trends of Gran Turismo- and coupe-like cars in terms of luxury.

In fact, it has the new BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo and X2 “coupe” SUV BMW as its direct rivals. The combo of Sedan’s spaciousness, hatchback’s versatility, and cool coupe is to turn eyes of the car passionates out there!

As far as spaciousness is concerned, the huge hatchback’s rear trunk can take one bicycle in it, period! To sum up, the debutant Audi A7 is as functional as an Audi Avant and as stylish in appearance as an RS3 Sedan.

The new Audi A7 will be made available via the dealers in the U.S. in the coming spring. Pricing is still to be disclosed.
