Since the roll-out of the online multiplayer video game over seven years ago in August 2010, World of Tanks has been a globally big hit. Now there’s going to be a new way to immerse into the epic tank battle as Wargaming’s multiplayer hit, World of Tanks, will partner with a virtual reality venture fund VTech to form into a location-based Virtual Reality (VR) company called Neurogaming. 75 employees have already been projected to work under the big title of World of Tanks VR.

Neurogaming is a Cyprus-based firm that also has a development studio in Moscow, Russia. It also plans to expand in Amsterdam and New York later this year. The VTech partnership involves two main projects: One with Cinema VR which has already seen success in 2017 and Polygon VR.

Location-based Cinema VR can support up to 4 players. It has 36 locations all throughout Russia and is reported of 180,000 players last year. In addition, Polygon VR is a platform that powers virtual reality gameplay on location. The specifications are motion capture technology, software for broadcasting, second screen support, and game management system that supports first and third-party content.

Neurogaming will be launching its own platform this year for people who are interested in installing location-based VR spaces, to expand its Cinema VR franchisees. Polygon VR multiplayer will enable its folks to play World of Tanks VR at those locations.

With location-based VR, we make the experience more affordable and accessible, moreover unlike any other developer; our biggest aim is to change the experience from one-time involvement to a long-term engaging story with co-op and competitive elements. – Slava Makarov, World of Tanks creator

The game has about 140 million players worldwide. Though Neurogaming has not revealed any details it is likely to contain the same level of details in virtual reality.
