Uber Technologies Inc. is a global taxi technology company which is headquartered in San Francisco, California, United States. Uber has always proved its excellence and thus successfully gained the trust of thousands of customers worldwide. So, the top news hitting the charts regarding Uber is reported through insider sources. Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi is on its way to make his first visit to Asia next month on February 19.

The countries which are covered in the Uber CEO visit include Japan and India. Reuters state that Khosrowshahi will be meeting with high-ranking government officials, regulators, business partners, and employees during this visit. A spokesperson from Uber stated, “Asia is an important region for Uber, and a focus for our investment in 2018 and beyond.”

After Travis Kalanick stepped down from the post of CEO, Khosrowshahi took over the charge of Uber. According to the sources, earlier this month Uber sold a total of $9.3 billion in stock, of which $8 billion has been sold at a discounted price to a group of investors led by SoftBank. Further, SoftBank has also invested $1.25 billion directly into Uber at a valuation of $70 billion.

Uber is striving to keep its position in the market, therefore, it is said that this visit is focused on improving the image of the controversial ride-sharing firm in these markets. Currently, Uber has been dealing with accusations of paying hackers who compromised data of 57 million users. The battle doesn’t end here, this company has an ongoing legal battle with self-driving car company Waymo, and legal charges regarding sexual harassment scandals.
