OxygenOS 5.0.2 is being rolled out by OnePlus. This updates the OnePlus 5T and OnePlus 5 to the latest Android version, Oreo. The update is available Over The Air and has a file size of approximately 1.7 GB.

In a changelog published by the company today, OnePlus informed its users of the latest updates that are going to accompany OxygenOS 5.0.2. These new features include bug fixes and improvements for quick settings and an Applied CPU security patch: CVE-2017-13218, a patch that relates to the Meltdown and Spectre side-channel attack flaws of CPUs globally.

Certain in-built apps like the launcher, weather, gallery, and file manager have been updated to versions 2.2, 2.0, 1.9, and 1.7.6. Picture-in-picture, Autofill, and Notification dots are among the core features of Android Oreo that have made their way into the OnePlus devices.

As far as the OnePlus 5 is concerned, the launcher, weather, gallery, and file manager apps have been updated in it, too, along with an upgraded CPU security patch (CVE-2017-13218). The new version has also introduced ‘Face Recognition’ to the OnePlus 5, which was previously rolled out in a Beta version. The camera app gets enhanced EIS to help in recording videos.

Adam Krisko, Software PM and Developer Relations at OnePlus, said, “The OTA will reach a small percentage of users today, and we’ll begin a broader rollout in a few days.”

OxygenOS Open Beta 3, received by OnePlus 5T earlier this week, introduced new navigation features similar to Apple’s iPhone X, including a pick-up gesture switcher for answering calls while removing the controversial Clipboard function. Open Beta 1 and Open Beta 2 for the OnePlus 5T were released earlier this month.
