MIUI 9 Update

MIUI 9 rolled out from first in November 2017, has been treating users to new improvements and bug fixes every week, based on user feedback. A list of the latest fixes made to the custom ROM this week has been published today, with the MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM 8.2.8 being the last public release before Chinese New Year Holidays.

In an update published by Xiaomi on their official website on 30th January, the company had informed its users that since their developers were working on bug fixes, there would be no new features being released in the following week. The MIUI 9 bug fixes being talked about include fixing the problem of music being forced close and videos that stop working abruptly. The problems of equalizers not functioning properly and of the app vault crashing after adding calendar events have also been fixed in the latest update.

Following these improvements and optimizations, users will have to wait patiently till 26th February 2018, for any new update, since the company will suspend work from 13th February 2018 to 25th February 2018, on account of the Holidays.

Xiaomi’s MIUI custom ROM has gained immense popularity in countries like China and India and has over 280 million users across 220 countries. With the release of MiUi 9, the company aimed to improve stability and speed, to achieve which they optimized over 20 areas of the interface, making it much more responsive than older versions of the ROM.

“Lightning Fast – MIUI 9, following the philosophy behind, we design each and every feature that adds to the experience and at the same time to the whole design philosophy,” reads the announcement published by the company regarding MIUI 9 update of Global Beta ROM 8.2.8 and the improvements listed as a part of the announcement promises to optimize user experience effectively.
