Reports have started emerging lately regarding the Samsung Galaxy S9 flagships. A couple of days ago, a Romanian retailer apparently listed the official Galaxy S9 covers. The listing revealed two new cover styles for the Galaxy S series that have not been offered by Samsung before. The images of the official Samsung Galaxy S9 covers have surfaced online, confirming that the two new styles they offer are Hyperknit and Protective Standing Cover.
The images of the Galaxy S9 cover reveal what the company will offer. To start with the Clearview standing cover, many of the users might have been familiar with this cover as it is available for Galaxy S8. It is a flip cover with a clear view on the front; this can be used to set up the device as an alarm clock on the nightstand or a clock on a desk.
LED view cover was introduced with Galaxy S7 a couple of years ago and supposedly, Samsung decided to bring it back with S9 and S9 plus. It has a hidden LED display on the front that shows the time, notification, messages, battery level, and alarm.
Samsung is also bringing back its Alcantara cover, which was introduced with Galaxy S8. Samsung is bringing back Alcantara for the flagship duo. It is a soft microfibre fabric that feels premium to the touch and has a built-in NFC chip. Samsung’s silicone cover has long been available, and the company plans to launch it for upcoming devices as well.
Of the two new styles, Hyperknit is one of them. It’s a woven fabric that’s normally used for sports clothing. It is said to be a lightweight and sporty cover and will be available for both the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+.
The protective standing cover is the next new reveal that Samsung is to debut with its new flagships. It offers “ultimate device protection”, with MIL-STD-810G-516.7 certification. The cover is tested against a subset of 10 specific conditions, which include extreme temperatures, dust, and vibration, drops from 4.9 feet, and others. It has a built-in kickstand just like the Clearview stand cover for landscape viewing.
Along with these covers, Samsung is also expected to launch other accessories for the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ which it’s going to reveal at the event on February 25. It is expected that the cover will cost up to $60.
