Today, February 19, Google India officially announced via a blog regarding its Google Tez payments service targeting users in India about a new method that makes payments faster and simpler. Paying bills is always tedious, whether offline or online, but the hassles are now reduced to seconds of paying bills if you use Tez.

The new experience enables paying bills in seconds, not minutes, as Google puts it. The app is supporting over 80 billers now, and you can add a biller easily. The new experience lets you go through this method only once.

The app works as simply as a tap on New Payment, then on Pay your bills. This will get you to the supported billers across various locations. Users can as well search specific billers by name. After confirming the biller, you need to provide the number associated with your account for linking it with Tez. Don’t forget to give an easy name that you can keep in mind.

In case of recurring utility bills, Tez will be providing timely notification of any new bill that has arrived. If you tap the biller’s name on the app’s home screen, you can see whether the payment has been made. It as well shows all of your past payments of the biller and as well lets you manage bills from multiple accounts.

Among the billers that Tez is supporting are the national and state providers of electricity, gas, water, and DTH recharge. This includes the billers such as Reliance Energy, DishTV, BSES, and more. Google covers all the states and the major metro cities of India. Tez supports the Bharat BillPay system that gets users to the latest bill from the providers.

The new experience that started rolling out today also comes off with a new offer. Users will have a scratch card for every new biller paid via Tez, and the card lets you win up to 1,000 INR.

The aim of Google via this entire effort is to save time for users in paying bills. Let us know in the comments below about your experience. Keep following us for the next update on Tez as soon as it surfaces.
