With the upcoming launch of one of the tech giant’s most awaited smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S9, more reports about the company have spurred up. The news regarding the launch of a new social networking app, Uhssup, surfaced last month.

According to the news, Samsung had previously filed for a location-based social networking app called ‘Uhssup’. Details about the new app have not yet been revealed. Not a lot of information has surfaced about the new app, but it was speculated that if Samsung were to launch the new app, it would coincide with the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ at the Mobile World Congress later this month in Barcelona.

A news report featuring in a South Korean website claims that they have details about the features of ‘Uhssup’. According to sources from South Korea,  Samsung Uhssup is a location-based social networking app that was developed by Samsung. It will allow the users to share their current locations in real time. It will also enable the users to comment on the other location’s ‘checked-in’ posts of other users.

Previous reports on many technological websites revealed that Samsung had registered the name ‘Uhssup’ with the European Union Intellectual Property Office or as famously known as EUIPO. Samsung had registered both the names ‘Uhssup’ and Samsung Social in the domestic Korean market. What we can decipher from the little information revealed about the release of the new app is that it sounds so much like the check-in facility available on Facebook.

How this new app will be different from all the other social networking apps available on the market is something we need to look forward to. The users have time up to 25th February to find this out.
