Sony Releases Trailer for ‘ghostbusters World’ AR Game Prior to MWC

Movie tie-in augmented reality apps have already been released for films like Spider-Man: Homecoming and Marjorie. To take a step further, Sony Pictures has now created an Augmented Reality app called ‘Ghostbusters World’ that includes ghosts that are featured in Ghostbusters movies, comics, video games, television shows, and theme parks, along with new ghosts being created exclusively for the game itself.

Sony Pictures has released the trailer for this much anticipated and undoubtedly innovative game on Friday, 24th February 2018, the demo of which shall be available to those attending MWC in Barcelona starting on Monday, 26th February 2018.

Ghost Corp, FourThirtyThree, and NextAge shall be credited along with Sony Pictures Entertainment Consumer Products for creating the game, the title for which is still in development with 4:33 Creative Lab.

The Ghostbusters Universe is rich in characters and Ghostbusters World is the perfect medium to get to know these characters in a whole new dimension. The Pokemon Go style game will apparently have gamers out and about to battle and capture hundreds of ghosts from all dimensions of the franchise. – Ivan Reitman, Director/Producer

Developer Niantic, having started the mobile AR gaming trend with Pokemon Go, is also working on another mobile AR game, tentatively titled “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite,” centered on the Harry Potter universe.

Ghostbusters World will be officially launched at Game Developers Conference in March and will be available on Android and iOS platforms.
