Huawei presented the 5G chip in the upcoming Mobile World Congress
in Barcelona later this month. This will allow the mobile devices to access 5G internet speed. Huawei claims that it can hit the download speed up to 2.3 gigabits per second which is, undoubtedly, faster than the speeds reached on current 4G networks
. The new chipset is called the Huawei Balong 5G01. The company also claims that it is the world’s first commercial chipset which meets all the 5G standards.
A body that governs the regulations of cellular standards globally the 3GPP, announced as to how a 5G should work. Huawei, it seems, is already thinking about the future with the launch of the new 5G chipset
. It is speculated that this next generation of mobile internet connectivity can help power driverless cars.

Huawei's CEO further mentioned that they will not license the new Balong 5G01 chipset to their rival smartphone makers. By making the decision to launch a new smartphone with the new chipset, the company holds the full control of the design and performance of the device. With the release of the new chipset, Huawei is taking on Qualcomm which already has its own modem called the X50 and Intel which is the world’s one of the most leading technology company.
