After Pokemon Go hit the global stage and was a hit among game enthusiasts, AR games started coming up with more out-of-the-box ideas. The likes of Harry Potter, The Walking Dead, and Ghostbusters are still in the initial stages, but it’s time to rejoice as the dinosaurs are back this Spring! Jurassic World Alive will be released on iOS and Android platforms.
Quite like Pokemon Go, this game will require enabling the GPS of one’s phone to enable one to roam about in one’s locality or wherever one is traveling so that one can interact with dinosaurs. You can click selfies with your favorite dinosaurs, and collect DNA samples and eggs of the ancient giants. You can even train the dinosaurs and battle them with other players around the world. It’s time for life lessons from “How to train your Dragon”?
The official site of Jurassic World Alive invites curious gamers and dinosaur lovers to pre-register. For those who will go for it, an in-game incubator awaits them at the time of the game launch.
Developer Ludia says: “Players discover dinosaurs by locating them on a map and deploying an in-game drone to collect DNA samples.” She has experience in developing a couple of park management mobile games based on Jurassic Park.
The release of Jurassic World Alive is close to the theatrical release of Jurassic World: the Fallen Kingdom on June 22. The film is the fifth of the Jurassic Park series and a sequel to Jurassic World that was released in 2015.
This game isn’t the only one in development presently, with Jurassic Park Evolution (a theme park simulator) due for release this Summer across PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Last year saw its announcement by the developer who also came up with Planet Coaster.
