Apple Inc. announced signing an agreement to acquire Texture, the digital magazine subscription service by Next Issue Media LLC, which gives users unlimited access to their favorite titles for one monthly subscription fee, available on iPad, iPhone, and other platforms.

We’re excited Texture will join Apple, along with an impressive catalog of magazines from many of the world’s leading publishers. We are committed to quality journalism from trusted sources and allowing magazines to keep producing beautifully designed and engaging stories for users. – Eddy Cue, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services

Texture, founded in 2010, brings over 200 of the world’s best magazines to life for $9.99 per month. It provides an easy way for users to read high-quality stories and entire issues of their favorite titles. Per subscription, magazines can be read on up to five devices and provide offline reading.

The Texture team and its current owners, Condé Nast, Hearst, Meredith, Rogers Media, and KKR, could not be more pleased with this development.

We could not imagine a better home or future for the service. – John Loughlin, CEO of Next Issue Media

The available magazines include People, Vogue, Rolling Stone, Men’s Health, GQ, Bloomberg Businessweek, ESPN The Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, National Geographic, GQ, Sports Illustrated, Wired, and Maxim.

iPhone and iPad users can avail of the Texture app by downloading it for free from the App Store and taking advantage of a free seven-day trial. It is also assured to be available on other platforms, including Android, Kindle Fire, and Windows 10.
