In order to accelerate the adoption of AI into industry-specific scenarios, IBM Watson Data Kits are now here. These new enterprise-based, machine-readable data sets are designed to quicken the workflow via AI-based training. The initially produced kits are designed specifically to serve the industries such as travel, transportation, and food – which are to see a new era of automized labor.

Today at ARMONK of New York, IBM announced the much-awaited launch of its Watson Data Kits, which are supposed to revolutionize the development of AI-based applications. These will then automize and better inform the decision-makings specific to the industry demands – a dream come true for most business leaders.

IBM first added Watson technology to large-scale industrial services in the year 2016. This enabled customer access to the production of industry-specific in-house APIs that dealt with Natural Language Processing and Watson Conversation. The machine learning and AI-based automated decision-making capabilities spring from such efforts.

Yesterday, on March 19, Apple. inc and IBM made announcements regarding the expansion of their existing partnership. This extension will help customers make use of advanced in-app machine learning capabilities through a combination of Apple’s Core ML and IBM’s Watson technology.

This partnership stems from the long-running MobileFirst enterprise initiative undertaken in 2014. Under the terms of the agreement between both parties, IBM is supposed to handle hardware leasing, device management, security, analytics, mobile integration, and on-site repairs. Apple Inc.’s role is to help in software development and customer support through Apple Care.

A large number of MNCs today depend on the viability of MobileFirst apps in order to conduct various business operations, which can range from air travel to healthcare to telecommunications. In 2017, this AI-based solution was brought to the banking industry by Banco Santander, so that relevant machine-readable data could be provided to experts for better analysis and predictions of the financial market. IBM recently enlarged its “Garage” concept of physical office space dedicated to developing the MobileFirst applications, with new facilities being set up in the cities of Shanghai and Bucharest.

Integrating the Watson technology into the existing iOS model creates a fairly straightforward workflow. Customers can then create a machine learning model using Watson Tech, which gathers info from an offsite data repository. Afterward, this model is converted into that of Core ML, which is then used through custom applications and distributed through the MobileFirst platform.

Core ML was launched at the Worldwide Developers Conference in 2017. It is supposed to be a platform tool that facilitates the integration of trained neural network models that are built with third-party tools into that an iOS application. This framework comes from Apple’s effort to tap into a machine learning technology, which was initiated with the development of the iOS 11 and the A11 Bionic chip.

According to Mahmoud Naghshineh, IBM’s general manager, Apple developers would need to find a way to streamline the building and storing of such apps in terms of time and ease. To help with that effort, IBM is about to introduce an IBM Cloud Developer Console for Apple. This cloud-based service is meant to simplify this process of building Watson models Integrated into apps. It also allows for back-and-forth data sharing between the app and the database it is tapping into. As a result of this, the machine learning model can use its AI to improve itself over time if the customer would like it thus. IBM cloud services can also be used by the clients to get access to authentication, data, analytics and more.
