Google announced on Wednesday, that they are to bring more than 20 updates “to deepen and expand Google Cloud customers’ control over their security.” The new security feature is for both the Google Cloud Platform and G Suite. Many of these updates will be turned on by default for G Suite so that you get the right protection for your organization.
To keep data safe, securing mobile devices is of utmost importance. 7 million devices are already managed with G Suite’s enterprise-grade mobile management solution and with new proactive security settings, device management is automatically enabled for your mobile devices that access G Suite. This thus enables admins with more security management controls like, to let see which devices access corporate data in a single dashboard. It lets to enforce passcodes and erases confidential data with selective account wipe for Android and iOS, and to automatically protect Android and iOS devices.
The introduction of the Google G Suite security center earlier this year brings together security analytics, best practice recommendations, and actionable insights from Google to help you protect your organization, data, and users. And the additions added today includes, security charts showing OAuth activity and Business Email Compromise (BEC) scam threats, mobile management charts that helps IT admins with devices that have been hijacked, rooted or jailbroken, it also includes ways for analyzing security health of the organization’s and get custom advice on it.
The enhanced Team Drive with new security controls gives more ways to safeguard highly-sensitive content. Data and enormous content of the admins will be protected by Information Rights Management (IRM) controls.
These new features and management controls are available now across all G Suite versions and can be used in the upcoming weeks.
