Samsung announced its latest application processor Exynos 7 Series 9610, today, March 22. It is built on the brand’s own 10nm FinFET process and can heighten the multimedia experience in high-end mobiles.

The Samsung Exynos 9610 comes off with premium specs like deep learning-based video processing and enhanced slow-motion video recording at 480fps. The slow-motion recording will now be 1.6 times better than before, using ISP (Image Signal Processor). Samsung claims that the speed would be more than double what MIPI (mobile industry processor interface) provides. The processor as well uses a premium multi-format codec or MFC for enabling encoding and decoding up to 4K 120fps.

Additionally, it is equipped with a neural network engine for improved face detection and smart depth-sensing for a single camera. The camera can recognize faces even if those are not facing forward or partially covered with hair or apparel. Out-focusing and augmented low-light images with improved signal-to-noise (SNR) ratio and brightness is possible thanks to smart depth-sensing.

Furthermore, Exynos 9610 packs a powerful CPU and GPU, resulting in smooth mobile computing and gaming performances for the high-end smartphones of today. Other features include always-on sensing applications, an all-network LTE modem, and even advanced wireless communication technologies that support Bluetooth 5.0. For location positioning, it is embedded with a 4-mode GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) receiver that offers GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo.

Samsung eyes for mass production of Exynos 7 Series 9610 by the second half of 2018. Stay with us to get the next update on the brand’s innovations and new products.
