For several years, Jaguar gave hints to set foot in the genre of electric vehicles. This became more prominent when the company presented a low-slung pure electric crossover in 2016 at Los Angeles Auto Show.

Then after almost two years, the pre-production version of I-pace got finally ready. According to the report, it took place at Jaguar’s North American headquarters.

The car will cost almost $69,500 for the basic variant. If the report is to believe, the SUV’s handling and torque both were commendable. During the turns, the I-pace performed seamlessly and quickly. Surprisingly, the shaking was less than expected while accelerating. The motor includes 394 horsepower and 512 pounds of torque. Jaguar has claimed that the all-electric car has the ability to go from 0 to 60 within 4.5 seconds.

Talking about the interiors of the car, Jaguar has done a fairly good job as they used to do. From both the inside and the outside, the vehicle looks elegant and stylish. The whole inner part had been covered with wood paneling and stitched leather just like a typical Jaguar product. The seats of the I-pace give a sporty look, and the ample side support makes it more comfortable. The company has incorporated the light-up options on the steering which looks exactly like the Range Rover Velar.

It is to be noted that there was a very odd-looking split in the middle of the center console, which used a divider between gear selector and the drive modes. There was a spot to hold a wireless charger behind the split. Interestingly, the I-pace is equipped with AI, which can make changes to the car on the basis of climate, weather topography etc.

The cars will be made available from the latter half of this year.
