LG is Planning to Launch a New Lg Q7 Smartphone in 2018

Must Read

Past month LG introduced at the Mobile World Congress the V30s THINQ as an AI version of the flagship from 2017, the V30. However, this would not be the only top model that the manufacturer brought to the Spanish telecom fair. According to Evan Blass, LG has demonstrated three phones behind the scenes to a select group, the LG G7, the Q7, and the V35.

LG Q7 brand name requested

Today we discover evidence that the LG Q7 is indeed coming. The Korean manufacturer filed a trademark at the KIPO (Korean Intellectual Property Office) for the brand LG Q7 at the end of February. The accompanying logo has also been included. The trademark was approved on March 9, 2018, and is categorized as ‘mobile phone, smartphone.

Compact middle-class smartphone with unique specs

In July last year, the LG Q series was launched with the introduction of the Q6. This device belonged to the first middle-class phones with an 18: 9 widescreen display. Also unique is the face recognition function, which until then only was found in high-end smartphones. Because of these premium features, the Q6 was also called the G6 mini.

The Android smartphone has a metal housing and is extra robust. In addition to IP68 certification, the Q6 is also tested according to the military MIL-STD-810G standard. The compact mobile phone has a 5.5-inch display, a 13-megapixel main camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 435 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage memory. Furthermore, a 3.000 mAh battery is installed.

LG Q6 and G6

The device received a suggested retail price of € 350 and was half the price cheaper than its big brother, the G6. Shortly after the introduction of the Q6, the Q8 was also introduced. This mobile phone was placed between Q6 and G6 with a suggested retail price of € 600.

LG Q7 2018 smartphone model

There is still remarkably little known about the specifications of the Q7. Probably it will again be a relatively compact phone with some high-quality functions. Hopefully, the new Q-series model will be equipped with more powerful hardware, such as the Snapdragon 660. Although the camera was certainly not bad, it is in line with expectations that the camera will also be improved in the Q7. Consider, for example, the use of a dual camera.

After LG decided at the beginning of this year to no longer want to replace its smartphone models at the same time every year, it remains as yet a mystery when we can expect the Q7. We may have to wait until the summer, but the Koreans could also choose to release the Q7 first and then the G7. In that case, the introduction of the Q7 could be put forward.

Anyway, the trademark application indicates that we can expect an LG Q7 smartphone in 2018. Whether there will be a replacement for the Q8 2017 model is as yet unknown.
