No one nowadays even thinks about going online or surfing the web without some sort of anti-malware software. This software has to function fully in order to protect the PC from various virus attacks. The Windows 10 Antivirus Software may be available in the form of either anti-spyware or malware protection.

AV-Comparatives conduct a monthly test independently to assess the effectiveness of the antivirus software available on the marketplace. These monthly checks are conducted by SE labs too. The monthly checkups identify the malware correctly and try to rightly avoid false positives.

The last test was done in February, and its results came out as a bit of a shock to a lot of gadget freaks. The scoreboard is led by Kaspersky. However, there was no doubt regarding Kaspersky’s excellent performance. It scored a brilliant 18 on the test. Symantec and Trend Micro, too, scored the same as Kaspersky; that is to say, both of the antivirus software scored 18. Bitdefender falls short only of .5 points. This is followed by McAfee and Microsoft, both scoring 17 points. McAfee and Microsoft are tied for third place. The last place is occupied by F-Secure, which only scored a meager 14.5.

The virus is shorthand for all kinds of malicious software. It might be in the form of ransomware which locks the PC and demands money, or a key-logger that records what the user does with their keyboards and sends the information to a complete stranger. It can also appear in the form of Spambot or clickjacking that sends the user to unwanted sites or to sites which the user does not want to visit. While it is not possible to give a 100% protection overall, the tests make sure the users use the most effective ones to keep their data safe.
