Xiaomi-funded Blackshark gaming phone scheduled for launch on April 13

The recently established smartphone manufacturer Black Shark Technologies is to bring out a Snapdragon 845 mobile platform-powered smartphone, the Xiaomi Blackshark, specialized for gaming purposes. Today’s official invitation poster confirms its launch on April 13, 3 PM, Chinese Standard Time.

The said poster invites Zhu Shangyu, a Xiaomi investor, to the product launch event.

Plenty of details, starting with the “BlackShark” codename, have surfaced for almost a month. First spotted on AnTuTu, its Geekbench report reveals power-packed features such as Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8 GB of RAM, and Android 8.0 Oreo.

Last week, a new report revealed the three upcoming variants of the same, namely: 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. The gaming phone supports Quick Charge 3.0 rapid charging technology and comes with a 120Hz display.

There is no official confirmation of the launch date as of yet.
