How Does the Cloud Work?

When you upload data to a cloud service like iDrive, it is stored on servers at the end of the connection. This means that all your info goes to a different server. A backup Rule of Three shows that everybody should have 3 copies of important content: the original format, the copy, and a copy of the copy.

The copy needs to be stored in a cloud service like iDrive, and the other two need to be kept such that one is on the PC and one in another hard drive. This way, the information is secure, and there is little chance that somebody will steal it or that it will be lost.

iDrive Backup Service

Several reviews have shown that iDrive is, by far, the complete backup storage service. Despite the fact that it might seem more expensive compared to other similar services, the iDrive has great features that make up for the price. This service can collect and store data from all PCs and smartphones, even from Windows Phones.

One of its best features is that it offers you the possibility to share all of your files with contacts, even with those who don’t have iDrive. Another important feature is that you can actually create links to the files. You can even use iDrive services on social media accounts. This service lets you store and restore videos and photos on your accounts.

Another important thing you should know before choosing iDrive is that it has a lot of backup features. Hybrid Backup, iDrive Express, iDrive rewind, and iDrive Smart Docs. Once you choose your storage plan, you can benefit from all of them.

There are personal plans and business plans. For the business plans, you can even pay every month instead of the whole year. This storage service has a plan for anybody. You just need to find the one that works for you.

iDrive Restore Service

With iDrive, you can also restore files and documents. Reviews have shown that the process of restoring any compromised or lost files can be restored in a matter of minutes. The desktop manager will show you all the files that can be restored, and you can choose from them.

After you select the files, you just need to click Restore Now and let the iDrive do its job. Another great feature of this service is that the files you just restored are sent directly to your local drive and are not archived. Also, you can choose to restore the documents to the initial folders. This way, you don’t have to move them yourself.

When it comes to cloud services, many people fear that their data might not be secure when using backup and restore services. iDrive makes sure to secure all of your files so that nobody can access them without your permission. This service employs an encryption key of 256-bit when files are transferred to the cloud. The connection is also secured with a 128-bit encryption key.

Users are also able to create their own encryption key when they set up the account. If your computer or phone is stolen, you can request a remote wipe with iDrive customer service. Apart from the backup, restore, and security services, the iDrive also has a file syncing option. This option is turned off by default, but you can enable it and then make a special folder from syncing your files.

Plans and Pricing

When it comes to pricing, iDrive offers a free basic plan for up to 5GB. You can also choose between 2 personal plans or 2 business plans. The first personal plan offers you 2 TB, and it costs $52, and the second 5 TB for $74. iDrive’s first business plan offers 250 GB of data for $75. The second business plan offers 500 GB for $150.

The iDrive is considered one of the best cloud storage services because it has many features. Its personal and business plans are designed for all users. While it might not be the cheapest storage solution, this is by far the safest and most complete cloud service.
