In its ongoing summit and product unveiling in Shanghai, Honor has released two of its newest products. The flagship phone, Honor 10, is your regular Android-based smartphone. The shock hits us with the Honor MagicBook, which is Honor’s first-ever Windows 10-powered machine. In terms of outward getup, there’s indeed a striking resemblance to Apple’s MacBooks.

The well-equipped Honor MagicBook can easily boast of its top-notch specifications. It comes with Intel’s latest eighth-generation Core i5-8250U or i7-8550U processor based on a 14 nm process, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of SSD storage, and even an Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU with 2GB of GDDR5 memory. Its 14-inch 1080p display has a whopping 81% screen-to-body ratio and small bezels as well.

It can deliver 4x performance of integrated graphics while maintaining a high frame rate. The large fans inside the notebook come with a flame-designed groove to create a “canyon effect,” which dissipates heat efficiently.

It comes in optional Glacier Silver, Star Grey, and Nebula Purple, weighing around 1.45 kg. Designed in a way that it can open and close to 180 degrees, this laptop houses a keyboard with 1.3mm travel, three levels of brightness, and is surrounded by speakers on both sides.

Honor’s pride resides in the Honor MagicBook, which, with a thinness of 9.6mm to 15.8mm, can very well boast itself as one of the thinnest 14-inch laptops available in the market.

The Honor MagicBook packs a large 57.4Whr battery providing 1080p video playback for up to 12 hours. There are two USB-A ports, a USB-C connection, and an HDMI port. The notebook supports Dolby Atmos with 4 integrated speakers for auditory clarity. Its fingerprint recognition power button takes around 7.6 seconds to boot. The MagicBook features a trademarked software called Magic-Link which automatically locks or unlocks the computer depending on the phone’s location.

Pricing is where the high-performance, light-weight, and sturdy honor MagicBook really makes a statement. Of the honor MagicBook’s two configurations, the base option with Intel i5, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage is priced at CNY 4,999 (approx Rs 52,300). On the other hand, the top configuration with Intel i7, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage is priced at CNY 5,699 (approx Rs 59,700). Pre-orders for The notebook in China begin on April 19. The first sale will take place on April 23. As is with the case of the smartphone Honor 10, no announcement has been made as to when or whether at all the notebook will hit Indian markets.
