LG is all set to release its new line of smartwatches known as the LG Watch Timepiece. So far, LG has not taken steps in that direction of releasing smartwatches since the launch of the last LG Watch Sport. However, with the rise of smartwatches in the market, it seems like a good time for the Korean company to enter into a rapidly increasing and profitable market.

According to the AndroidHeadlines report, LG will release it with Wear OS. Wear OS is basically the rebranding of Android Wear, and the software to is the same, just the name is different. Almost everything regarding the smartwatch has been released except its appearance.

The smartwatch will feature a 1.2-inch 360×360 circular LCD display underneath regular analog watch hands. This will be a hybrid of analog and smartwatch, and it should make for some cool and interesting potential features in the future. It also comes with IP68 dust and water resistance. The tracker can be used in a variety of sports activities. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 and comes with 768 MB of RAM. But the SoC used here was used in smartwatches like Huawei Watch 2 and is quite outdated.

It will charge with a USB-C port, Bluetooth 4.2 support, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The battery power of this watch is 240 mAh. However, the smartwatch lacks NFC or GPS support. The watch strap can be changed since it will come with a rubber strap that can swap wristbands of the same size (22mm). But the hands of the analog clock over the digital dial may prove to be a hindrance to its users.

The LG Watch Timepiece is reported to be announced on Monday, and it will come in two color options- Aurora Black and Cloud Silver it will be made available sometime in June. However, the price of the smartwatch has not been released yet.
