HTC is developing a new blockchain-powered Android phone. A few weeks ahead of its latest flagship statement, HTC just revealed another piece of hardware. The company announced today at the 2018 blockchain conference in New York that its forthcoming HTC Exodus, apparently a decentralized, blockchain, and buzzword-packed marketing experience, will appear as a phone.

HTC Exodus

The HTC blockchain-powered smartphone is featured to support cryptocurrencies and decentralized applications with a universal wallet and built-in secure hardware. The Exodus does comprise some highly-marketable and fictitious design schematics that make it profusely clear that it’s a very technical product. It also features “The Switzerland of Protocols,” a “Universal” wallet, “DApps,” and all sorts of other nebulously defined features ostensibly meant to enhance security.

According to the reports, HTC may even allow cryptocurrency as payment for the phone. It is seen that these phones can offer to improve the experience of cryptocurrency and DApp users over regular smartphones.

Through Exodus, we are excited to be supporting underlying protocols such as Bitcoin, Lightning Networks, Ethereum, Dfinity, and more – Phil Chen, Vice founder and Chief Officer for the new endeavor

He continues that he would like to support the entire blockchain ecosystem, and in the forthcoming months, he’ll be announcing many further exciting partnerships together.

Blockchain smartphones are endorsed to offer improved security and user experience by integrating cold wallet storage right into the phone, and all of these features can be integrated into an average smartphone with the help of software alone. Thus we have to wait until one of these blockchain phones is available in the market to witness a better experience of browsing than regular smartphones.
