On Wednesday, YouTube announced that as a part of ongoing enhancement, YouTube Red is transforming to YouTube premium. The revamped YouTube premium includes more, bigger original series and movies, ad-free background play along with downloads across YouTube.

YouTube is a place where artists and fans connect, creating and discovering a world of music. Over 2 million artists have come to share their voices and art with the world. Taking these into consideration, on Tuesday, May 22, YouTube will be introducing YouTube Music, a new music streaming service made for music with the magic of YouTube.

While YouTube Music Premium, a paid membership without advertisements, will be available at $9.99 a month, the new ad-supported edition of YouTube Music will be available for free. The YouTube Music service and its original shows will be charged $2 more for its premium service.

YouTube Premium will be charged $11.99 for all new members. The current subscription price for the existing YouTube Red members will continue for YouTube Premium.

YouTube Premium will soon be available in its existing markets and will soon launch in new markets such as Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. On Tuesday, YouTube Music will be launched in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, and South Korea. This will get expanded beyond to other countries in the following weeks.
