Facebook Trending

Facebook has brought one more update with an intention to provide their user with the best surfing experience. This giant never sleeps and is continuously busy in updating the social site to make it efficient and more reliable to its users. Facebook recently announced that it will remove Trending soon to make way for future news experiences.

The platform has decided to discard Facebook Trending because they noticed that users were finding it less useful over time. With this, it has also proposed to remove products and third-party partner integrations which rely on Trends API.

The company states that they found people consuming news on Facebook is changing primarily on mobile and increasingly through news videos. So they are putting efforts so that their users should stay informed. They also want that the news from now is published through reliable sources.

For example, lets see some points noted below.

  • Breaking News Label: Facebook will now be testing breaking news notifications. The test will be initiated through 80 publishers across North America, South America, Europe, India and Australia. The publishers can place a ‘breaking news’ indicator on their post in News Feed.
  • Today in: The company will be testing the dedicated section known as Today in. This section is related to the latest breaking and important news from local publishers in their city. Further, they will also be taking updates from local officials and organizations.
  • News Video in Watch: Now the users over Facebook will be able to view live coverage, daily news briefings and weekly deep dives that are exclusive to watch.

Facebook is engaged to provide their users with best quality news and other such important updates to seek their attention. They now can stay updated about the happening around the globe.
