Apple makes watchOS 5 Beta 1 unavailable to its site

Apple watchOS 5 Beta 1

For all the Apple watch users and developers around the globe, there was a major setback with the watchOS 5 beta 1. After making it available for download and update only on Monday, Apple had seemingly put a temporary stop to any further downloads of the watchOS 5 beta 1 from its website this late Tuesday.

Yes! You have heard it right. This means, until further notice, you cannot download and update your watch with the Apple watchOS 5 beta 1. Several users of the Apple watch have expressed their futility detailing their difficulties in trying to download the latest software update into their devices over online forums.

In most of the cases, the 646 MB download failed to complete installation, while many of the devices saw through the entire installation, only to reboot into a current version. Apple has not only halted the watchOS developer configuration from its developer website but has also pulled down the OVER THE AIR or OTA update which was supposed to appear on the iPhone once the required configuration profile had been installed.

Apple has acknowledged this issue and accordingly released a statement stating that the seed 1 of watchOS 5 is temporarily unavailable and the developer website shows the software as “coming soon”.

We are investigating an issue that may occur while updating. If you’ve experienced any issues, please contact AppleCare. – Apple

Announced on Monday, the latest software update was supposed to add tons of new features such as user interface tweaks, better Siri integration and many more. The company has not yet provided a detailed overview of the removal of the update nor any estimated time within which the watchOS 5 beta would be reinstated, but developers can keep their fingers crossed to receive the updates within a short time as Apple has a history of taking care of any arising issue within a matter of few days.

Though such bugs are common occurrences in beta software, generally hitting the initial software beta releases, which are only detected during device propagation. Rest assured, one can expect the developers at Apple working round the clock to resolve the issue at the earliest and release a revised version of the watchOS 5 in its website.
