Intel on yesterday, June 13 has announced the TANK AIoT Developer Kit for creating powerful AI and solutions for computer vision. It bears the support of OpenVINO toolkit and the company’s latest SDKs.

The developer kit is available being pre-configured with the SDKs and tools. It also consists of a pre-installed OS that has updated drivers, reference designs, sample code, IDEs, and SDKs. This bundle takes care of the challenges in installing and setting up.

There’s an industrial-ready workstation in the developer kit for handling intensive computing workloads. It will find purpose in commercial solutions like industrial PCs, data analytics, and camera surveillance systems. It is fanless and its temperature range goes from -20C to 60C.

Intel is offering a choice of either i5 or i7 processor as per your need of computing level and expansion capability for final deployment. This ideally gives you the space to scale solutions without replacing hardware.

Among the I/O options on the Intel TANK AIoT Developer Kit are 8 USB ports, 2 LAN ports, 2 full-size PCIe slots, 1 mini PCIe slots, 6 COM ports and more.

Regarding software, the OS of the kit has the OpenVINO toolkit that’s an SDK for integrating deep learning inference. It enables scalability and portability of software via a method to run inference on CPU, GPU or other hardware accelerators.

Intel’s Media SDK is one of the components to accelerate the hardware. These SDKs can be used for creating a robust vision pipeline of the computer. This will help optimize the system’s workload.

Furthermore, there are two IDEs included for development so that the software stack can be used. Last but not the least, the developer kit has support for connecting to sensors. The kit can be connected to various cloud services like AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
