PhonePe announces its partnership with Ola for a hassle-free cab and auto booking experience. Now PhonePe users can have access to Ola’s multi-modal commuting offerings, along with the benefit of using the industry-first AutoPay feature.

The new AutoPay feature allows users to set up payment instruction one time after where fare deduction happens automatically. AutoPay users can easily link to their preferred Credit/Debit card for an Ola ride and they can automatically pay their ride-fare at the end of every ride. A user also has a choice of switching off their AutoPay instructions anytime they want.

The big technology milestone Ola micro-app for PhonePe is built ground-up by the PhonePe team using the Ola developer platform. The mapping application used here provides not just location but also navigation with directionality, going in hands with iOS and Android maps.

This amalgamation is part of PhonePe’s idea of being an open payments ecosystem, enabling the provision to build and deploy apps on its platform. The launch of the joint venture is currently available to just over 5% of PhonePe’s users and 1% of iOS. The feature will be available to all the users later this week.
