Just when everyone thought, the President of the United States Donald Trump would not make a fool out of himself publicly, he decided to take his ever-flourishing battle with the FBI to Twitter.
Donald Trump has been known for, since being the President of the United States, being notorious on Twitter. He has not previously shed away from expressing his banal views on social media. Recently the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report about the FBI’s conduct in the lead up to the 2016 presidential election. The report was released on Monday. President Donald Trump apparently sounded off on the Justice Department’s inspector general report.
The tweet read, “FBI Agent Peter Strzok, who headed the Clinton & Russia investigations, texted to his lover Lisa Page, in the IG Report, that “we’ll stop” candidate Trump from becoming President.” Trump also criticized this and added in the same tweet that it “Doesn’t get any lower than that!”
The report apparently had many new and juicy revelations which included critical insight into former FBI Director James Comey’s handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails. The conflict between Comey and Trump is not new and thanks to social media are known to all. Trump fired the investigation officer, Comey who was supposed to investigate Trump himself. However, in his tweet, Trump chose to berate the text exchange between two former agents. He did not stop his attack on Comey though.
His follow up tweet targeted Comey and boasted that he did a very good job in firing Comey. Trump tweeted, “The IG Report is a total disaster for Comey, his minions and sadly, the FBI. Comey will now officially go down as the worst leader, by far, in the history of the FBI. I did a great service to the people in firing him. Good Instincts. Christopher Wray will bring it proudly back!”
